Back to Blogger asnd Blogging
BDAS, LLC had several Blogger sites back in 2016-17. Many folks have forgotten about this service from Google, but it is still going strong. Our other sites are still out in the ether, and so a few relevant posts can still be brought in from those earlier sites. Though the focus now will be on this "One Alcohol Beverage World" theme.
Now post-Covid and back to one Main Location (Lexington KY)
we, the team, now within a business that has reached the legal drinking age in
the US - 21 years strong are excited to announce we are expanding in 2024,
This gives us the opportunity to get back to dedicated
platforms relating information of relevance to you without the clutter of
non-related posts as on standard run-of-the-mill, mass-production SM
sites.
Watch for neat posts on brewing, and on distilling with the
latest analytical news, regulations affecting QC testing of potable beverages
and so much more.
Let us know what you need to learn about or would like to
see from the team that knows more about the quality of beverages and how to
assess them than most others out there. Thanks to all our clients (large
companies or small) we have grown to be the most frequently sought-after
analytical test site for over 20 years.

As new posts appear top of page as newly added (without
some background manipulation) this first day of launch only features the introduction
to the site and the BDAS team. Watch for more to come going forwards.
One of the pioneering tests we have implemented is the signature fingerprinting of beverages. At first glance these seem like just crude fingerprints. But as we probe deeper we find more and more underlying information about the beverages tested.
Here is one quick glimpse at what we play with. How do various components show up in such studies? The are high spike amounts into a neutral alcohol vodka base. Such may not show up in simple tests of beverages but can give us clues as to the presence or absence of components. Such work recently showed us what might be being added to Clase Azul Tequilas. A signature we see in their products and not seen in any other Tequila tested to date. An approach known as principal components analysis (PCA) and chemometrics can reveal much more, and we are working on such methods with others in the industry.
The tests shown below were done a few years ago. Many studies since.
Meet the Team.
Since 2011 and following a move to a fully equipped Lab space in KY BDAS, LLC grew from myself (Gary) only to now a fully degreed, expert team dedicated, and with passion, for testing your beverages.
A few others helped us build and then moved on but then came Philip, Jessi and Haley. Tony has been with us and a great friend for a goodly while. Here they are pictured below. Three of us are or have been TTB Certified for all three programs offered by the regulatory agency:- Beer, Distilled Spirits and Wine - current listing on the TTB website. Haley will attempt to qualify soon and is to take on the microbiology services that were offered until recently in Denver CO.
